DSA demands revocation of Dr.Shabab’s suspension. CMO directs BMOs to conduct mass testing after in writing from school.

RAJOURI OCTOBER 02:– In a press release Dental Surgeons Association (DSA) J&K has condemned the suspension of Dr. Shabab Ahmed (Dental Surgeon, CHC Thanamandi) by DM Rajouri allegedly for lackadaisical approach & dereliction of duties while performing Covid-19 duties.
He was suspended when 32 students of a private school were declared Covid-19 positive on September 27 and the next day all the students were declared negatives after RT-PCR tests. Dr.Asif Iqbal , president DAS, J&K said Dr Shabab was on leave on that day & was made scapegoat while the appointed Covid Nodal officer (at that time) was not from health department.
“RAT test is not authentic & it has been proved many times. RAT tests as per medical experts are hardly 45 to 50% reliable then how can a doctor be made a scapegoat for it” read press release of DSA.
DSA (Jammu) president Dr. Rahul Koul has demanded revocation of the suspension order and has also appealed to Lt Governor for an independent inquiry in this matter.
Meanwhile, in an order, Dr.Shamim Un Nisa, Chief Medical Officer has directed all the Block Medical Officers in the district to conduct mass testing only after receipt of a written order from the concerned school.
Depute the teams with proper order and with directions to maintain Covid -19 SOPs.
“Also direct the teams to repeat the test with another lot if any positive case comes” CMO order read.
On Friday in Rajouri district, 7 cases were detected positive, including a GMC doctor, out of 1703 reports received.
There are 68 active cases in the district at present out of which 11 are under treatment in various hospitals in & outside the district.
5124 persons in age group of 18-44 were today given vaccination, including 3539 who got the first dose.
