Drug Peddler Arrested in Rajouri; 10.24 Grams of Heroin-Like Substance Recovered

RAJOURI, JUNE 25:– Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse, Rajouri Police arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered 10.24 grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession.
According to an official statement, a police team from Police Post City Rajouri was conducting routine patrolling near Bravo Traffic Check Point (TCP) Tandwal when they intercepted a suspicious individual. On noticing the police presence, the suspect attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended.
The accused has been identified as Khalak Hussain, son of Mohd Younis, a resident of Thandikassi, Tehsil and District Rajouri.
During his personal search, police recovered 10.24 grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance, which was seized on the spot after completing all legal formalities.
A case under FIR No. 333/2026 has been registered at Police Station Rajouri under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the recovered narcotics and identify any forward or backward linkages in the drug trafficking network.
Rajouri Police reiterated its commitment to eliminating the drug menace and appealed to the public to cooperate by sharing information regarding drug peddling and other narcotics-related activities in their respective areas.
