Doda Police Cop Jumps Into River To Save Drowning Girl

BHALESSA , APR 19 :- A Doda police official is being lauded for jumping into the freezing river at Indloo Khara in Doda district to save a drowning minor girl . According to reports , the incident occurred when a girl namely Irwm D/o Shoket Ali R/o Indaloo Kahara, was crossing the river and she lost her balance, fell down, and was swept away by the strong current. SDPO Gandoh Nawaz Khanday who was on patrolling accompanied by HC Younis , CT Imtyaz Ahmed and SPO Mubarak Ali immediately reached the spot risking their own jumped in the river and rescued the girl .Heavy rains from the last some days have raised the water levels of the rivers in the area .Speaking SDPO Gandoh Nawaz Khanday said, “I thought this minor girl might not survive, so I jumped into the water to save her .”“Somehow I managed to get to her and bring her to a place of safety. I wouldn’t say I’m a good swimmer, especially in deep flowing water.“Saving him is the best feeling in the job. We are there to protect people, to save people.
