Rajouri June 28: In order to discuss and review the working of Red Cross Society in the district the District Development Commissioner Rajouri(Chairman DRCS) Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting the concerned members of the society here in his office chamber.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Sher Singh, Principal GDC Rajouri Javed Qazi, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd Ashraf, district panchayat officer Dr Abdul Khabir, district social welfare officer Naseeb, Assistant Regional Transport officer Mohd Inzar, representatives from education department and others.
The society’s mission is providing relief in times of disasters/emergencies and promoting health & care of vulnerable people and communities. It is a humanitarian organization which provides basic necessities to the people who are in dire need of such facilities.
In order to raise the funds a Red cross Mela will be organised at the bus stand Rajouri on 30th and 31st of july.For the smooth conduct of Red cross Mela a district level organising committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher singh.
The committee discussed the number of prizes like Alto Car, bike / scooter, smart phones and others with total financial implications of ten lakhs. An Alto car has been unanimously earmarked as the prize for the first prize winner.
The mega Red Cross event is expected to witness participation of general public, Schools and colleges, Beopar Mandal, NGOs, officialdom, etc.
