DYSS Poonch Concludes Multi-Day Table Tennis Championship; Winners Felicitated with Trophies and Certificates

POONCH, SEPT 14:– The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Poonch, today successfully concluded the Inter-Division District-Level Table Tennis Championship at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Poonch, with enthusiastic participation from young table tennis players representing different districts of the Jammu Division.

The championship witnessed a high level of sporting talent, competitive spirit and discipline among the participating players. After several days of exciting and closely contested matches across different age categories, District Jammu emerged as the Overall Champion of the tournament, showcasing impressive performances throughout the championship.

The concluding ceremony was marked by the presence of DySP Dr. Shah Kant as the Chief Guest, who appreciated the efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports in providing quality sporting platforms to young athletes and encouraging them to pursue sports with dedication and determination.

As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, various sports activities were also organized across different parts of District Poonch, witnessing an impressive participation of 1,988 young athletes. The Department also conducted a Quiz Competition under the Viksit Bharat initiative, in which 177 participants took part with great enthusiasm. These activities further reinforced the Department’s commitment towards engaging youth in constructive, healthy and nation-building activities through sports and knowledge-based initiatives.

During the ceremony, the Chief Guest distributed trophies, medals and certificates among the winning and outstanding teams and players. He congratulated the champions as well as all participating athletes for their sportsmanship, discipline and commitment displayed during the championship.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest appreciated the arrangements made by DYSS Poonch for the smooth and successful conduct of the event and emphasized the importance of sports in the overall development of youth. He encouraged the players to continue working hard and bring laurels to their respective districts at higher levels of competition.

The championship provided a valuable platform for young table tennis players to showcase their skills, gain competitive exposure and interact with talented players from across the Jammu Division. The event also reflected the Department’s continued commitment towards promoting sports at the grassroots level and creating opportunities for young athletes to excel.

The entire championship was conducted under the overall supervision of DYSSO Poonch, Mohd Qasim, with Activity Incharge Vijay Kumar Sharma overseeing the arrangements and coordination for the successful conduct of the event.

The officials and technical staff involved in the championship were appreciated for ensuring discipline, fair play and smooth conduct of the matches throughout the tournament.
