District administration Rajouri to formulate Traffic Management/Decongestion plan* 3 Traffic Police booths to be set up_

New Parking spaces to be developed

 Rajouri May 16:Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting with the authorities to formulate the Traffic Management/decongestion plan and reviewed the inputs for smooth management of traffic in the city.

The meeting was attended by SSP traffic ML Kaith, ADC Sher Singh, ASP, Liaquat Choudhary,ExEN PWD Zubair Ahmed,DySP Traffic,DPO Dr Abdul Khabir, ARTO Inzar Rana, and officials from Municipal Committee

It was decide to initiate installation of delineators on Gujjar Mandi, ALG-Kheora-Darhali And other vital stretches of roads to regulate the traffic.

It was further decided to issue notification for identifying No-Parking Zones and completion of yellow line in Gujjar Mandi .In this matter DDC directed the EXN PWD to complete the macadamization of New Bus Stand, Old Bus Stand and Gujjar Mandi area at the earliest.
EO municipality informed that the extra area near Abdullah bridge shall be utilised for parking.
The EO Municipality was directed to initiate concerted drive for removal of encroachments from Right-of-Way along these vital roads and subsequent widening of road sides or decongestion of traffic shall take place.
Moreover EO was directed to develop the parking slot near Abdullah bridge and take up the matter with Sanatan Dharam sabha for providing extra park space.

It was also decided in the meeting about taking up the earth cutting work near the Hospital chowk in order to provide dedicated corridor for movement of Ambulances and regulating the general vehicular movement through the new road. DDC directed EXN to finish the earth cutting road work in a week’s time.

Meanwhile DDC also reviewed the status of blacktopping of new bus stand and blacktopping of alternate road to khoera .It was informed in the meeting that the work on blacktopping at new bus stand in progress and will be completed shortly.

DDC said with the completion of this bus stand a major parking space will be available to the vehicles and later will help in decongestion.

It was also decided in the meeting about the establishment of new bus stands for Thanamandi Darhal area,kalakote budhal area.

It was also decided on the meeting that three traffic police booths shall be established in the to regulate the traffic.These booth will be at critical points like panja chowk,Gujjar Mandi and kheora chowk.

Detailed arrangements were discussed for initiating the drive to ensure smooth traffic management and stringent action against traffic violators.DDC asked the SSP traffic to depute the traffic personnel at critical points to check the congestion.
