District administration Rajouri formulates Mission Padhai-Likhai for improving the quality of school Education at Primary Level District Educational Advisory Committee set up. Retired Educationists to be members_

Village Education Councils to come up. Panchayats being involved.

Rajouri June 28: In order to improve the quality of education in primary schools by enabling pupils to have the basic knowledge of *Reading and Writing* the text at primary level the District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today held a meeting here in the Conference Hall of PWD Dak Bunglow Rajouri.

The meeting was attended by,Chief Planning Officer,Rajouri, Shamas-Un-Ahmed,Chief Education Officer Rajouri,MA Rather concerned Zonal education officers, senior teachers and prominent retired educationists.

The retired CEOs,ZEOs and the eminent educationist put forth various suggestions for improvement of primary education.They said that pre primary education is the need of the hour and it must be practised before the children enter primary level so as to ensure better learning outcomes. They also stressed for strengthening the process of active feedback from the parents about the learning process of their children.
They asked for the constitution of cluster heads for the regular monitoring of teaching process in order to ensure quality learning in primary schools. They also said that the teachers must acquaint themselves with the play way methods while teaching different concepts to make the learning process interesting and enjoyable because it has been observed that the students learn swiftly and in a better manner if they are provided their desired atmosphere.They suggested that the syllabus for subjects should be formulated keeping in mind the mental level and needs of the students because lengthy and difficult syllabus creates difficulty in learning and often causes of poor results.

It also came out in the meeting for constitution of village level education councils to keep a focus on measurable learning outcomes. It was decided also to constitution district educational advisory committee which will place its report on learning outcomes every month.

While speaking on the occasion DDC said that the district Administration is committed towards providing quality education at primary level and in this connection Mission Padhai-Likhai has been formulated with the sole purpose of strengthening the basic education system in the district.He appealed the educationist to come forward and help district administration in achieving the goals of this Mission.He further elaborated that the prime motive of Mission Padhai-Likhai is to impart quality education through the students so that they could compete with their peers in private educational institutes.

To further strengthen the basic Education system in the district ,District Administration will soon constitute District Educational Advisory Committee at district level with Retired Educationists to be it’s members.The committee will meet once in three months and advise the district administration on important issues releted strengthening of education system in Rajouri.

In order to further make the panchayats more powerful DDC said village Education councils will be constituted at panchayat level.The councils will regularly monitor the Education system in panchayats, and submit a report so that desired results can be achieved.This move will further ensure regularity and punctuality in the schools.
The challenge of improving the quality of teaching by training teachers and supporting them with modern teaching aids, tools and methodologies like smart classrooms needs to be taken up on pilot basis.DDC said there is an additional need to have monitoring procedures and processes in our schools so that learning outcomes are regularly assessed and remedial measures can be taken in a timely manner to address shortcomings.
