RAJOURI, MAY 18:-A deputation of residents from Chaprola, Seari and Kewal villages of Block Budhal New today met Deputy Commissioner under the leadership of former Sarpanch Kewal and senior PDP leader Mohd Farooq Inqlabi and submitted a memorandum seeking immediate intervention for completion of the long-pending road project titled “Phalni to Narloo.”
The deputation highlighted that the road project was started in 2004 from Trun Kewal and earth work was executed up to Phagoli. They informed the Deputy Commissioner that while the first 2 kilometers from Trun to Government Middle School Beji was later taken over by PMGSY Rajouri, the remaining stretch from Km 2 to Km 8 only underwent earth work by PWD Reasi and no further developmental work has been carried out for the last 22 years.
The delegation informed the DC that more than 15,000 population of villages including Phagoli, Chai, Chaprola, Tuli Upper, Bhela, Seari and Chawni are suffering badly due to the non-completion of the road. They said that students, patients, elderly persons and particularly female students are facing immense hardships due to the non-motorable condition of the road.
The deputation further stated that both PWD Reasi and authorities of Rajouri district have been denying responsibility regarding completion of the road, causing severe inconvenience to the public for decades.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri listened to the deputation patiently and assured them that the matter would be examined seriously. He directed ADC Kotranka to submit a detailed report along with recommendations regarding the issue.
Later, the deputation also met ADC Kotranka and submitted the memorandum for necessary action.
Mohd Farooq Inqlabi was accompanied by Dharm Singh, Parveen Singh, Noor Mohd, Kernail Singh, Norden Akhter, Nancy Devi, Mohd Iqbal, Romesh Singh and Toseef Shah during the deputation meeting.
