Srinagar, June,25:- A delegation compromising Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, National Coordinator AICC Vichar Vibhag, Ex-MLA Kalakote and Ex-MLC, Darwari Lal, Councillor, MC Kalakote and Nakul Sharma, State Secretary, JKPYC met with Talat Parvez Rohella, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Department, J&K Govt. at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar and demanded Government Degree College for Taryath and early completion of building construction of Government Degree College, Kalakote.
Mr. Sharma while expressing serious concern over the lack of higher education facilities in the area, he said that there is no other Government Degree College situated in 110 kms between Reasi and Kalakote which is needed to be considered.
Mr. Sharma further added that this stretch of 110 kms covers almost 50,000 pax of population prescribing all the norms obligatory for Government Degree College in Taryath which is known as nucleus. This region hitherto lacks the requisite primary and secondary scholastic conservatory besides lowering down the grades and merits of the students of the regions as they have to hasten far away to assimilate and pursue pedagogic degrees and courses.
Mr. Sharma also demanded early completion of construction of building of Government Degree College, Kalakote which is pending from last long three years.
The Commissioner Secretary apprises the delegation that the issue will be taken up with the concern authorities and will be considered soon to give quality of education to the public in general.
