DDC reviews progress under Special Sakshatkaar Saptah, conducts extensive tour of Chenani

UDHAMPUR, JULY-23:-To monitor the progress under Special Sakshatkaar Saptah District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla today conducted an extensive tour of Tehsil Chenani and attended special Gram Sabha at Panchayat Pachote and Kud of District Udhampur here today.
Pertinent to mention here that District Administration Udhampur has launched a compaign “Special Sakshatkaar Saptah” from 20th July to 27th July under which special gramsabhas are to be organised across the district with special focus on Coverage of eligible beneficiaries for different pension schemes of social welfare department, registeration of beneficiaries under Ayushman Baharat scheme and issuance of Golden cards,Identification of School dropouts and water conservation. Panchayat wise shedule for gramsabhas has already been circulated.

While addressing the gram sabhas, DDC appealed general public to come forward and take the advantage of these gramsabhas and register for these schemes as per the eligibility. During the tour DDC inspected the cost effective ponds constructed for water conservation in these panchayats.DDC directed the ACD to replicate these cost effective ponds in other panchayats of the district. He asked every house hold to dig a pit near the house for the purpose of recharge of ground water.

While appreciating the role of Panchayat representatives in the development of villages, he asked Panchayat representatives to discharge their duties with passion and devotion to ensure that the benefits of various govt schemes reach upto eligible beneficiaries.

Sarpanch, Panchs and people of the area apprised the Deputy Commissioner about various problems being faced by them which include scarcity of drinking water, electricity, construction of pond in the area,establishment of medical facilities, macadamization of roads etc
He said that district Administration is committed to provide drinking water facility to all households in the district.
DDC also visited to Cable car project,Sanjyote and took the review of its functioning.
DDC also reviewed the progress of R&B and PMGSY departments and directed the Concerned officers to adhere the timeline and maintain the quality of project.
DDC also inspected the site for food park to be constructed by Industries department on national highway.Food park on national high will provide employment oppurtunity to locals and local products will get competitive market.
District officers and Sub division level officers of different departments were also present during the tour.
