DDC Rajouri visits Shahdara sharief Shrine Beautification Works to be taken up

Rajouri July 01: In order to inspect the status of ongoing work and to ensure more beautification of the holy site,the District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today visited the famous Shadrasharief Ziarat.

The DDC was accompanied by Administrator Auqaf Shri Qayoom Dar, Subdivisional Magistrate Thanamandi Mohd Tanveer, Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri Mohd Zabair and Assistant Executive Engineer PWD Mohd Ashraf.

Shadra-sharief is a famous and beautiful shrine standing atop a beautiful hillock near Thanna Mandi, the 19th century shrine is dedicated to revered Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah.It is the major site for the religious tourism.Every year pilgrims in lakhs visit the shrine to seek blessings.

While conducting an inspection of developmental works being executed by the Auqaf administration itself, the DDC directed the senior architect Mr Sunil to prepare a beautification project of the shrine, including the musical fountains at the ziarat so that the site becomes more attractive for the tourists.He told while preparing the beautification project,solid waste management concept should also be included.He told that the projects should be economical and eco-friendly.

While speaking on the occasion the DDC said that Shadra sharief has a huge tourist potential and steps shall be taken to enhance its beauty so that there is an upsurge in the number of tourists.

The DDC asked the concerned officers to work with added zeal and ensure transparency and accountability while executing the works on this holy pilgrimage. He urged for maintaining the quality of work so as to promote the religious tourism in the district.He also advised the officers and the Administrator Aquaf to take proper possession of the Auqaf land and other assets which have been notified under Wakaf Property Act to avoid the chances of encroachments.

.The senior Architect was also directed to prepare the prototype design of sanctum sanctorum.He directed to submit the beautification as well as sanctum sanctorum project at the earliest for the submission to wafaq council for approval.
