Rajouri,June,12: District Development Commissioner Rajouri,Mohammad Aijaz Asad today kick started the work on widening of Rajouri-BGSBU road having length 7 KM and approved under the languishing scheme with an estimated cost of ₹ 24.90 crore.
While speaking on the occasion, prominent citizens said that it was a long pending demand of the people of the area to get the double Laning of the road due to the frequent movement of vehicles on the road which connects the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University with the Rajouri town and often leads to the traffic congestion.
DDC said alternate road connecting the University with the Medical College Rajouri has been approved and the work on this will start very shortly,DDC said.He also maintained that a large number of Road projects are in the pipeline and their approval is expected shortly.
It is pertinent to mention here that out of 24.90 crore sanctioned cost ₹3.00 cores have been kept for land compensation.
The DDC directed the concerned Executive Engineers to ensure that the work is done expeditiously for its timely completion besides maintaining the quality of the work.
People of the area present on the occasion complimented District Development Commissioner Rajouri for putting in efforts for getting sanction/approval of the much awaited double Laning of the road and for kick starting of the work.
