DDC Rajouri discusses modalities for youth’s skill development.

Rajouri July 27:--In a meeting of the District Skill Committee (DSC) held here at Rajouri on Tuesday the modalities for skill development of the unemployed youths were discussed which was chaired by Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC.
The meeting deliberated on various aspects of district-specific skill requirements, the viability of available schemes besides the scope of skill development for various departments.
“Skill development is the need of the hour to create an empowered workforce. Identify the potential areas in which training or skill can be imparted to the unemployed youth” said DDC.
He also urged upon all the concerned officers to assess demands and requirements of specific skills in the local market and rationalize available resources accordingly.
Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC also asked the concerned officers/officials to ensure that all the eligible trainees of the district are provided scholarships well in time.
Rajesh Kumar Shavan also reviewed the implementation of Umeed scheme and the concerned officer from NRLM informed that the scheme is currently being implemented in five blocks of the district, including Darhal, Koteranka, Manjakote, Nowshera and Kalakote and two thousand self-help groups have been constituted to date.
The DDC asked for registration of the maximum number of women so that they can get the benefits under the scheme.
DDC directed the Principal of ITI Rajouri and Superintendent ITI Nowshera to identify two suitable places for the opening of training centers where the youth would be provided training in different trades.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Principal ITI Rajouri, A.R Sheikh; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; Superintendent ITI Nowshera and Kalakote, Nayaz Ahmed; Superintendent ITI Sunderbani, Ruchi Sharma; President Jamola Nehru Youth club, Akis Nasir; besides the other concerned members of the District Skill Committee attended the meeting.
