DDC members, BDC chairpersons & MC councilors of Rajouri discuss issues of public importance at joint session

RAJOURI, AUGUST 19:– District Development Council Members, Block Development Council Chairpersons & Municipal Councilors today discussed issues of public importance here at a joint session chaired by District Development Council Chairman Rajouri, Naseem Liyaqat here in the Conference Hall of the Dak Bungalow.

Among the others, Vice Chairman DDC, Shabir Khan; DDC member Rajouri, Sai Abdul Rashid; DDC Member Doongi, Khalid Hussain; DDC Member Seri, Sageeta Sharma; DDC Member Nowshera, Manohar Singh; DDC Member Dhangri, Tazeem Akhter; DDC Member Darhal, Iqbal Malik; DDC Member Sunderbani, Rajinder Sharma; DDC Member Moughla Shamim Akhter; DDC Member Kalakote, Anita Thakur attended the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by the ; BDC Chairperson Rajouri, Darbar Chowdhary; BDC Chairperson Qila Darhal, Khalid Firdoz; BDC Chairperson Nowshera, Bodh Raj; BDC Chairperson Mougla, Surekha Kotewal; BDC Chairperson Plunger Parveen Akhter; BDC Chairperson Manjakote, Shamshad Begum and BDC Chairperson Siot, Bal Krishan. President MC Rajouri, Mohammad Arief along with ward members also attended the joint session.

The district administration team included Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan; Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Dev Singh; Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Sushil Khajuria and DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir.

The elected representatives put forth several issues about their areas including inadequate water supply, macadamization and renovation of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health services and related issues were projected during the meeting.

Specific issues projected during the meeting included shortage of funds under B2V, sanctioning of additional bunkers; shortage of electricity poles, sanctioning of funds under PMAY, the establishment of a solid waste management plan in the city, repairing of old water supply schemes; timely compensation to people who suffered a loss due to incessant rains etc were some of the issues highlighted during the meeting.

The DDC Chairman during the meeting highlighted the initiatives being taken for the welfare of the general public and to mitigate their sufferings and provide them with a responsible and accountable administration in the district.

The DDC Chairman said that the District Development Council and the District Administration, both are making persistent efforts to provide quality services to the common masses, that too at their doorsteps to ensure that they don’t face any inconvenience.

The DDC Chairman said that the main objective of convening such a type of public meeting is to take a firsthand appraisal of important issues at the grassroots level and such platforms enable Administration to know the multifaceted problems being faced by the general public which improves the public service delivery mechanism.

The DDC Chairman told the public representatives that all their grievances have been documented and assured the public that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a time-bound manner with the intervention of the concerned quarters.

The Chairman urged all councillors to play an active role and monitor the situation o a daily basis so that the administration would be apprised of the ground situation and suitable measures be suggested for implementation on the ground.
