RAJOURI, JULY 22:– Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today conducted an extensive tour of the flood-affected areas of Aiti, Badalamang and Baila Bus Stand to assess the ground situation, supervise rescue and relief operations, and review the restoration of essential services amid the prevailing flood situation.
Accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar, the Deputy Commissioner personally monitored evacuation operations in vulnerable localities where floodwaters had risen. He directed the concerned departments to ensure the safe and timely evacuation of residents from vulnerable areas and extend every possible assistance to affected families.
During his visit to Baila Bus Stand, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the immediate closure of shops and commercial establishments located in flood-prone areas as a precautionary measure to safeguard human lives and property. He emphasized that public safety remains the administration’s top priority and directed officials to strictly enforce all necessary preventive measures.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the ongoing restoration of electricity infrastructure in the affected areas. He instructed the Power Development Department to expedite the restoration of power supply while ensuring the safety of field staff engaged in the repair works. Interacting with engineers, field staff and labourers working under challenging conditions, he appreciated their dedication and boosted their morale, urging them to continue restoration efforts with utmost caution and commitment.
While interacting with local residents, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that the District Administration is closely monitoring the situation and that all necessary measures are being taken to provide timely relief, restore essential services and minimize inconvenience to the public. He reiterated that all departments have been directed to remain on high alert and maintain close coordination to respond swiftly to any emergency.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of rescue, relief and restoration works at various locations and directed all concerned officers to ensure uninterrupted coordination, continuous field monitoring and prompt response until normalcy is fully restored.
