DC Rajouri Flags Off Vehicle for Awareness of Panchayat Electoral Rolls Revision 2026

RAJOURI APRIL 02:-Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today flagged off a vehicle from Dak Bungalow Rajouri to sensitize the public about the ongoing Panchayat Electoral Rolls Revision 2026.

The initiative aims to educate citizens, particularly eligible youth and rural voters, about the importance of enrolling themselves in the panchayat electoral rolls and ensuring accuracy in voter details. The awareness campaign will cover every panchayats of the district, disseminating information through public announcements and distribution of IEC material.

*Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of inclusive and error-free electoral rolls for strengthening grassroots democracy. He urged all eligible citizens, especially those who have attained the age of 18 years on or before April 1, 2026, to get themselves registered as voters within the stipulated timeline.*

*It was informed that the Panchayat Electoral Rolls Revision is being conducted from March 27 to May 8, 2026. Citizens can approach their respective Panchayat Election Booth Officers (PEBO), Electoral Registration Officers (ERO), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO), or the office of the concerned Block Development Officer for registration, correction, deletion, or transposition of entries.*

*Special camps are also being organized on designated dates across the district to facilitate on-the-spot registration and grievance redressal.*

The District Administration has appealed to the general public to actively participate in the revision process and contribute towards strengthening democratic institutions at the grassroots level.
