DC Rajouri, Administrator Aquaf interacts with Ulmas/ Imams ;Seeks their active cooperation in COVID mitigation efforts

RAJOURI, JULY 19: –To assess the issues and demands of the Ulmas/ Imams, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Rajesh K Shavan today convened a meeting with them here in his office chamber.

Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar and Administrator Auqaf Shadrasharif, Tahir Mustafa Malik attended the meeting.

A number of issues pertaining to the Ulmas/Imams including low wages, illegal encroachment of Auqaf land, proper development and maintenance of Ziarats besides other related issues and demands were raided during the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all the grievances projected on the occasion and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a time bound manner.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the Imams to bring in the notice of the Auqaf Administration if there is an illegal encroachment on the Auqaf land so that the same can be evicted at the earliest for the larger public benefit.

While speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Ulmas/ Imams in the efficient containment and management of COVID19 in the district and urged upon them to continue the same zeal in future to further mitigate the pandemic in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner focussed the cooperation of Ulmas in maintaining covid appropriate behavior during the upcoming Eid Ul Azha festival time by ensuring social distancing is maintained and no large gatherings take place anywhere in the district.
