Block Diwas Held at Jamola to Redress Public Grievances and Enhance Service Delivery

**DDC Rajouri Abhishek Sharma listens to public issues; directs officers for prompt redressal.**

RAJOURI, NOV 04:- As part of the Government’s ongoing public outreach and grievance redressal initiative, a Block Diwas programme was today held near Shiv Mandir, Jamola in Block Budhal Old to address public issues and ensure effective service delivery at the grassroots level.

The event was presided over by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, along with DDC Member Budhal Old, Shazia Choudhary.

During the programme, a large number of people from adjoining panchayats participated and raised various issues and demands including the blacktopping of the Rajouri–Bakori road via Jamola, construction of a bridge at Beda Khetar, boundary wall for Shiv Mandir, upgradation of local schools, and augmentation of electricity and water supply. The public also highlighted the shortage of doctors in local health institutions and also rationalization of teachers in schools.

*After patiently listening to the grievances, the DDC issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal. He directed the Education Department to rationalize staff in schools, instructed the Power Development Department to ensure the installation of transformers within a week, and asked for the speedy execution of ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission works to ensure adequate water supply.*

*He also emphasized the need for joint awareness camps by different departments in cluster villages to spread information about various government schemes. The PWD authorities were directed to ensure quality standards in all ongoing works, while the public was encouraged to register complaints through the JK Samadhan portal in case of any issue faced.*

*The DDC further urged the public to avail benefits under flagship initiatives such as Mission YUVA and JKCIP (Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project), and appealed to make the panchayats drug-free and TB-free.*

*DDC Member Shazia Choudhary appreciated the efforts of the District Administration and requested the DDC to address all pending issues of the area at the earliest.*

On the occasion, officers from various departments including Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, Health, RDD, PDD, PHE, and Banking institutions conducted awareness activities to educate the public about welfare schemes and services available to them.

Among others present were ADDC Rajouri, Malikzada Sheraz ul Haq; PO ICDS, Harpal Singh; Deputy Director Employment, Mohd Nawaz; ACD, Auqil Naveed; DSWO, Abdul Raheem; Executive Engineers of PWD, PMGSY, PDD, and PHE; CMO, Dr. Manohar Lal Rana; and other district and block officers.
