Rajouri, June 25 :-Talking to GNS, a group of locals said that the condition of roads is extremely dilapidated even as the district is well represented in the government.
Belying tall claims of the Government about providing better road connectivity in remote areas of Rajouri, majority of roads across the district area are in dilapidated condition.
Talking to GNS, a group of locals said that the condition of roads is extremely dilapidated even as the district is well represented in the government.
Locals said that one of the most important roads that connects Sailsui Peer Baba to Rajal via Phalni and other adjoining village is dotted with potholes for last several years. “During the Assembly elections in 2014, the politicians assured about construction and renovation of the said road but nothing materialized since”, they said.
The road connects several villages up to Phallni Bramna area with the district headquarters Rajouri. Due to pathetic condition of the road, students and employees face immense hardships in reaching their respective destinations.
Meanwhile, the residents alleged that the officials of the concerned department have not invited tenders for the construction work. Due to bad condition of road and lack of proper drainage system, the commuters are facing problems, they lamented.
“This problem manifolds during rainy season, thus making roads accident prone,” said Manir Hussain a resident of kawan.
“We have time and again apprised the authorities about the condition of these roads between Sailsui Peer Baba to Rajal via Phalni Kawan but our appeals have fallen to deaf ears,” the locals added.
Residents have appealed District Development Commissioner Rajouri to intervene into the issue and make possible redressal of their problems.
