Back2village Program: Training Session for Gazetted Officers held in Rajouri

Rajouri,June,18:In order to sensitise the gazetted Officers of the district,the district administration Rajouri today organised a training session for the successful conduct of the Back to village programme held from 20-27 June 2019.

The training sessions were organised under the supervision of the district Development Commissioner,Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad and were conducted by the District Level Master trainers, Assistant Commissioner Development Akhter Qazi,Chief Agriculture Officer MY Choudhary and District Panchayat Officer,Abdul khabir.The training programme was carried out in two back to back sessions in which employees were acquainted about their role and nomenclature of their duties. Speaking on the occasion Assistant Commissioner Development Akhter Qazi, highlighted the objective of the programme and said that the designated gazetted officers will stay for at least two days including a night halt in assigned villages and take first-hand assessment of developmental needs and economic potential by holding direct interaction with people and panchayat representatives.He said that the main focus of the programme is to strengthen the panchayats, collect feedback on the delivery of government schemes/programmes, capturing specific economic potential and undertake an assessment for the development and development deficits in the Panchayat.He said that all requisite arrangements have been put in place for the successful conduct of the programme.He also informed that in order to sensitise the sarpanches and panches about the programme a separate programme will be organised at district level.ACD appealed the officers that the successful conduct of this ambitious programme hinges upon the officers visiting the panchayats and advised the officers to do this honestly.

District Panchayat Officer,Abdul khabir said that the ambitious programme initiated under the direction of Governor J&K state commences throughout the state from June 20th and will run up to 27th June. The programme is aimed at strengthening the bond between the government and the citizens, to energize the Panchayats and obtain feedback about the delivery of Government services/schemes at the grass root level. Under the programme, a gazetted officer of the state will be allocated a Panchayat halqa, where he/she would visit and spend two-days including night and interact closely with the people including the PRIs.He very effectively demonstrated what the gazetted officer has to do during his/her stay in the Panchayat allocated.He also practically illustrated the schedule of the suggested activities to be undertaken by the visiting officers.
