    RAJOURI, JANUARY 04:– Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today conducted a comprehensive inspection of Government Medical College Rajouri, where he assessed the health care facilities and infrastructure. During the visit, he inspected the staff quarters and the Girls hostel block and addressed the major issues.

    One of the primary concerns was the need for the completion of the road leading to the girls hostel block. Recognizing the importance of safe and accessible transportation for the students, the Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal instructed the Executive Engineer of the PWD to initiate the necessary measures for its early completion.

    The Deputy Commissioner observed the need for proper drainage facilities in the girls hostel block. To address this issue, the Executive Engineer of the PWD informed the Deputy Commissioner that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) outlining the proposed drainage system had already been submitted to the concerned authorities.

    Another matter discussed during the visit was the construction of a boundary wall around the premises of the GMC Rajouri. Recognizing the significance of the boundary wall, the Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal directed the concerned authorities to undertake the construction of the boundary wall promptly. This measure aims to enhance the safety and well-being of the students, staff, and other individuals within the GMC premises.

    The DC highlighted the need to address the issue of shifting staff in the staff quarters. He directed the officers to ensure the provision of all necessary civic amenities to facilitate the smooth functioning of the quarters. This includes the provision of water supply and other essential services. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of creating a conducive living environment for the staff, ensuring their well-being and productivity.

    Deputy Commissioner instructed the Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department to identify suitable land for the water supply scheme for GMC Rajouri. This measure aims to alleviate water scarcity issues and ensure a sustainable water supply for the GMC Rajouri and its associated facilities.

    The Deputy Commissioner expressed his commitment in addressing these concerns, stressing the importance of providing a conducive and safe environment for the students and staff of GMC Rajouri. He directed all concerned officers to work together efficiently to resolve the identified issues promptly.

    SRINAGAR JANUARY 04:- A meeting of District Level Implementation Committee(DLIC) for implementation of PM Vishwakarma scheme launched to uplift traditional Artisans and Craftspeople was held today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad here at Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.

    Among others, the meeting was attended by General Manager DIC, Chief Planning Officer, Secretary SMC, Principal ITI Bagh-i-Dilawar Khan, Principal ITI Bemina, Lead District Manager, representatives of MSME, Nominee of MSDE, Domain Experts and other concerned Officers.

    At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a first hand appraisal about the progress made so far with regard to registration of Artisans(Vishwakarmas), verification process in both rural and urban areas, capacity building of stakeholders and monitoring & evaluation mechanism in place for Artisans(Vishwakarmas).

    On the occasion, the DC was informed that as of date as many as 3070 applications have been received on PM Vishwakarma Portal in the District for registration under Vishwakarma scheme and 21 Panchayats of Srinagar District have been on-boarded on the PM Vishwakarma Portal.

    After deliberating threadbare the strategy to be adopted for 2nd tier verification of applications received by District Level Implementation Committee(DLIC), the DC asked the Officers of line Departments to complete the verification process within 5 days to further speed up the process.

    The DC also reviewed the process being undertaken by Common Service Centres(CSCs) in ensuring smooth enrolment of beneficiaries under the scheme.

    On the occasion, the DC asked the Officers of all line Departments to be more practical in successful implementation of the scheme so that the target group is benefitted for their overall socio-economic development.

    Highlighting the features of PM Vishwakarma, the Deputy Commissioner said that the scheme will directly benefit thousands of Artisans and Craftsmen of the District working with their hands and tools, besides transforming the lives of the Artisans and Craftspeople contributing in preservation of traditional and heritage crafts.

    The DC further said the scheme will enable the recognition of Artisans and Craftspeople as Vishwakarmas(Traditional Artisans) making them eligible to avail the benefits under the Scheme.

    Pertinent to mention that PM Vishwakarma scheme offers a range of benefits including toolkit incentive of Rs 15,000, training to artisans, Rs 500 per day during training, collateral-free credit support up to Rs 1 lakh (first tranche) and Rs 2 lakh (second tranche) at a concessional interest rate of 5%, incentives for digital transactions and marketing support.

    It was also informed that initially Government has recognized more 18 trades under PM Vishwakarma including Carpenter, Boat Maker, Armorer, Blacksmith, Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith, Potter, Cobbler, Masons, Basket/Mat/Broom Maker/Coir Weaver, Doll & Toy Maker, Barber, Garland Maker, Washerman, Tailor and Fishing Net Maker.

    Earlier, the General Manager District Industries Centre, Srinagar shared an updated list of applicants registered online on PM Vishwakarma portal among the stakeholders, which is being updated on a daily basis.

    SRINAGAR JANUARY 04:–Apni Party President, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday and expressed profound anguish over the deaths of three civilians.

    According to a party statement issued here, during the meeting, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari urged the Home Minister to ensure that those involved in the deaths of three civilians in Poonch are brought to justice and given severe punishment. He stated, “People in Jammu and Kashmir are deeply hurt due to this incident. They seek justice. The individuals responsible must face justice and receive severe punishment.”

    Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also emphasised to the Home Minister that, while dealing with militancy and terrorism, security agencies must ensure that no civilian deaths or human rights violations occur. Civilian killings cannot and should not be tolerated.

    “On this, the Home Minister assured Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari that it would be ensured that no civilian deaths occur in the future, and those responsible for the recent deaths of three civilians will face the law of the land,” the statement said.

    Furthermore, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari brought the issue of the ongoing power crisis in J&K to the attention of the Home Minister and sought an additional supply of electricity to address pressing needs during the harsh winter days in Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering due to the power shortage crisis in these harsh winter days. There is an urgent need for additional power supply to the UT so that pressing needs are fulfilled. I request you to use your influence to ensure an extra amount of power supply to Jammu and Kashmir.”

    RAJOURI JANUARY 03:–Nestled in the grandeur of the National Cadetg Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2024, the Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh (JK&L) Directorate stands as a beacon of dedication and excellence.
    This one month long annual event, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2024, commenced at the Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt with “Sarva Dharama Puja’ on December 30,2023.
    A total of 2,274 cadets from all 28 States and eight Union Territories participated in this camp, including 122 cadets from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, effectively portraying a microcosm of ‘Mini India’.
    Comprising 122 cadets, including 47 from the Senior Wing (SW) and 75 from the Senior Division (SD), JK&L Directorate has not just participated but carved a distinctive niche in this esteemed camp.
    As the curtains rise on their journey, each cadet embodies the spirit of JK&L contributing to the vibrant mosaic of diversity.
    The Directorate’s journey at the ongoing RDC 2024 is marked by notable achievements across various fronts, symbolising their unwavering commitment to the core values of the NCC.
    The major achievements of the cadets of JK&L during ongoing RDC-2024 so far include securing 8 slots in the prestigious ‘Guard of Honour’, a testament to the precision, discipline, and dedication exhibited by the cadets.
    Two out of three Senior Wing (SW) cadets and six out of nine Senior Division (SD) cadets earned this noteworthy recognition, standing tall as guardians of honour at the camp.
    Out of the 21 Senior Wing cadets, an impressive 13 were selected for ‘Kartavya Path’, exemplifying their unending commitment towards drill and discipline.
    This achievement not only showcases their dedication but also underscores the directorate’s emphasis on cultivating a sense of duty and responsibility.
    Graciously performed by 20 cadets (16 SW, 4 SD) group dance featuring the captivating ‘Shiv Tandav’, earned warm commendations from DG NCC, highlighting the dedication and artistic flair of JK&L Directorate cadets.
    A harmonious symphony unfolded as JK&L Directorate presented a resonant ‘group song’, delicately capturing the essence of the occasion. This musical ensemble showcased the cadets’ artistic finesse, leaving a lasting impression on the audience and contributing to the cultural tapestry of the event.
    A grand spectacle unfolded with the ballet performance, featuring an innovative UV light presentation. Thirty-five cadets contributed to this stunning visual display, offering a glimpse into the directorate’s creative ingenuity that added a ‘wow’ factor to the overall display of skills and creativity.
    In the ‘line area competition’, both Senior Wing and Senior Division cadets from JK&L Directorate showcased their best efforts, emphasizing creativity and precision.
    Cadets from JK&L Directorate invested immense efforts in the ‘flag area’, where their creations emerged as beautiful representations. The intricate details, vibrant colours, and symbolic representations in the flag area underscored the directorate’s commitment to excellence in every aspect of the Republic Day Camp.
    SUO Sonam Angmo and SUO Vishali Kaith, serving as ‘stick orderlies’ to DG NCC, received a token of appreciation for their disciplined service. Their roles symbolized discipline and reflected the directorate’s commitment to service with honour.
    As the JK&L Directorate forges ahead with unwavering determination, these achievements highlight the dedication, discipline, and creativity of the cadets, promising greater milestones and a legacy of distinction for JK&L Directorate at the Republic Day Camp 2024.

    RAJOURI JANUARY 03:–Police station Sunderbani received a written application given by complainant namely Satpal S/O Krishan Lal R/O Fulwari Bajwal in Sunderbani who mentioned that in the intervening night of Tuesday Wednesday, at about 11: 30 PM, some unknown person put his vehicles on fire.

    The vehicles have registration number JK11G 3081 ( Motorcycle) and JK11F-1369 ( Mahindra Bolero load carrier).

    The vehicles were set on fire by breaking oil tank of the motorcycle.

    On this information a case FIR No 01/2024 U/S 435 IPC was registered at PS Sunderbani.

    The police team rushed to the spot and collected all relevant evidences. Based on some credible clues picked one suspect namely Satish Kumar S/O Suresh Kumar R/O Laman Bajwal age 26 yrs.

    The picked suspect during interrogation disclosed his involvement in the commission of crime.

    Accused has been arrested within 24 hours and further investigation is going on.

    SRINAGAR JANUARY 03:–The lack of essential amenities at the Children Hospital Bemina has been highlighted by Congress General Secretary Mir Ruvais, who is calling for urgent intervention from the LG Administration to mitigate the distressing situation.

    Expressing grave concern over the absence of vital medical equipment such as MRI and CT scan machines, Mir ,emphasized the hardships faced by the community seeking medical assistance. The absence of these diagnostic tools not only hampers the accurate diagnosis of ailments but also prolongs the suffering of the children and adds burdens on their parents.

    Furthermore, the deteriorating road conditions leading to the hospital premises have caused a considerable influx of road dust, posing health risks to the already vulnerable patients. Studies have indicated that this dust adversely affects the health of the children, exacerbating their ailments.

    In addition to the medical equipment and road conditions, the inadequate functionality of toilet facilities within the hospital premises has amplified the suffering of both the young patients and their caregivers. The lack of proper sanitation poses a serious health hazard, further compromising the already fragile condition of the children.

    Mir , in a plea urged the LG Administration, stressed the urgent need for immediate humanitarian action to rectify these critical deficiencies. Addressing these issues on priority grounds is vital to safeguard the lives of the young patients and alleviate the distress faced by their families during these challenging times.

    The voices of the community echoed in demand for construction of the road from Saj to Beka, speedy implementation of JJM schemes, construction of road from Leera Wali to Sai Walidat, shortage of electricity poles, pending work on CFC building at Lah to be completed at the earliest, dilapidated condition of road from main road to Bawli etc.

    Other issues included renovation of Plangarh to Bandhanu road, adequate staff at PHC Dodasan Balla, opening of GMS at Danna, examination hall for GHSS Saj, inclusion of left out eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G and many more.

    In line with the imperative goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Deputy Commissioner has instructed the concerned officer from the Jal Shakti department to expedite the completion of schemes. This directive underscores the commitment to ensuring the earliest realization of essential water projects, emphasizing the paramount importance of expeditious action for the convenience and well-being of the public.

    At the Block Diwas event, the Deputy Commissioner issued a pivotal directive for seamless collaboration among the concerned departments. Emphasizing the imperative of swift resolution, the Deputy Commissioner called for a united effort to eliminate bottlenecks hindering the timely execution of developmental projects.
