    RAJOURI, DEC 26: In a joint effort to ensure a secure and peaceful environment for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations and other major events, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma alongside SSP Gaurav Sikarwar, chaired a high-level meeting with officers from the Army, BSF, and CRPF. The meeting focused on reviewing the overall security scenario in the district.

    The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for close coordination among all security agencies to maintain vigil and ensure foolproof arrangements during the Republic Day celebrations. The SSP provided an overview of the district’s current security situation and outlined measures to address any potential challenges.

    RAJOURI DEC 26: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Chowdhary, today conducted a public outreach camp in the Sadda area of Block Khawas, where he interacted with local residents and listened to their grievances and demands.

    The people raised several issues including construction of roads from Soni Gala to Gadyog and Dangiote to Bandigala, as well as upgradation of High School Sadda to Higher Secondary School.

    The Dy CM assured the public of timely redressal of their concerns and reiterated the government’s commitment towards ensuring development of remote areas.

    During the visit, Surinder Chowdhary, in presence of MLA Javed Choudhary, laid the foundation stone for construction of a 45-meter span motorable bridge at Mangrote over Sadda Nallah. The project, to be executed by PWD (R&B), is estimated to cost Rs 520 lakh.

    Surinder Chowdhary assured the public that the bridge project would be completed in time while asking the officials to ensure high-quality standards during construction.

    The Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s focus on addressing developmental gaps and improving infrastructure in rural areas.

    The public expressed gratitude for initiation of this vital infrastructure project, which will significantly improve connectivity in the region.

    RAJOURI DEC 25:-A tragic fire incident devastated the residence of Saddam Hussein, 30, son of Abdul Hamid, a Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration cardholder, in Nagrota village, Rajouri district. The inferno destroyed property worth several lakhs, leaving the family homeless and in distress.

    Eyewitnesses reported that the fire brigade took over an hour to travel a mere 3 km, citing a severe traffic jam near the Jhawarnager area as the cause of the delay. The traffic bottleneck was allegedly due to poor management, a recurring issue in the region.

    Advocate Abrar Choudhary condemned the inefficiency of the traffic department, stating, “Such delays in emergency services are inexcusable. The loss could have been mitigated if the traffic had been managed properly.”

    The incident has sparked widespread anger among local residents, who criticized the authorities for their lack of preparedness and demanded accountability. “This is not the first time we’ve faced such issues. We need immediate reforms in traffic management and emergency response systems,” a resident remarked.
