  • “Media , A den of irresponsibilities , Need to hour to save dignity of this valuable profession”

“Media , A den of irresponsibilities , Need to hour to save dignity of this valuable profession”

    SHAFQAT SHAHEEN SHEIKH

It was a day when media was declared as 4th pillar of democracy and was thrown free to uplift downtrodden masses and act tough against corrupt mafias . The day was not sofar that media had done so many tremendous jobs and saved the dignity of profession and country in India across the world . Since before independence , media had played a vital role to free India from Britishers as media became asset of citizens to save it’s dignity .
As far as , times passed away and due to passage of time every thing had changed as just we see that there is change in every sector and section . The changes is of two types that is positive and negative but as since few decades ago media was declared as one of the most daring profession that had curbed menace of corruption from the society . From last few years , the approach of media had changed beside calling media as fourth pillar of democracy had now became Ist pillar of corruption and injustice . As now a days , when someone fails from other profession or work, enters in Media and uses logos of different organisations and media houses . The peoples’ across the state feels safe and secure only on behalf of media as they are calling themselves as Reporters Editors and Correspondents . In the backdrop of profession media losses it’s credibility as every failure person represents himself from 4th pillar that finally acts as people lost faith and trust upon media as it’s valve had become zero .
For that of independence, we have fight hundreds years and had pledged to create country where all communities could live together without any discrimination of caste creed or religion. In these days we see that news channels are campaigning for political parties and politicians , that had became slave of such politics .
A senior Journalist Ravish Kumar said that what media you are looking for, Media is murdered , Media had become slippery shoe of politicians as what media shows is too much different from that of facts and reality . He asked all so called channels to shows the reality and stop hate mongering among society on basis of religion and communities .
It’s time had come , that media had changed as yet content and format is same . Same frame in different languages as we have never face such blow of media in our daily life that we are facing .
Media had became fastest for fabricating fake and false news, that the credit is to be directly dependent upon politicians as media plays a vital role in expressing hate mongers on religion basis and ethics that why we have now became pray of our religious beliefs and are doubting on our religion .
In these days News channels on Television screen and in print media Newspapers either in English, Hindi or Urdu or any other languages there is label of hate mongering among communities on its top and anchors are crying that they have started war with neighbouring countries and others who are supporting and spreading message of peace in India have no right to live there, as they are Gaddar . If you see political mileage in India , you will find that what happened as it is not dialogue but it is fact that you could see or find on TV screen when you watch news channel during night .
Few days ago , A grenade attack happened in my peaceful region Jammu at Gen Bus Stand resulting some causalities . By the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police , the culprit was arrested with in hours and was send behind bars . I salute the job of J&K Police who always do their tremendous jobs in such situations . As soon as attack took place , Our National Media channels buzzed with that Kashmiri boy arrested and started hate and abusive language against Muslim community . I personally don’t care but I hate such persons .
At a time when a man was caught red handed with grenades by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Poonch, where recruitment rally was underway under supervision of Senior Police officers , No media house carry the news and never started debating because the accused was not Muslim . Talk of National Media was sofar even though state media not shows this because the accused belongs from Hindu community .
I being a citizens of India ask all those biased reporters and anchors , who are spreading hate mongering among society on community basis. Criminal is criminal and terrorist have no religion , then why not you bring facts in public domain why are now you waiting for police statement. Who was caught with grenade and who is He also who is behind whole ?
Unfortunately our news anchor are creating hate among all of us from AC rooms by telecasting false and fabricated news . The supreme leader behind media house or any TV channels is politicians that you can find what newsroom are telecasting that no one can do .
It is time that we have to fight against so-called TV channels and print newspapers and if we can’t do so that will be completely destroyed by watching these so-called channels that even we had faced since from few years .
Paid news is lowering ethical standards of journalism. Corruption in irresponsible media will eventually devour journalism. Many believe that paid news has taken deep roots. In every upcoming day more and more people are losing respect for the media because they do not trust media. All these show that the ethics and principles on which the journalism stands is no longer being followed by the journalist.
Aftermath of Pulwama Attack and surgical strike over Balakot , A senior journalist had various times raises questions on irresponsible media because it’s too far away and different from the fact that had happened . As social media trolled with anchors pics with a tagline “Boycott irresponsible media and news channels” that too had Ravish Kumar said in his visual.
*Why irresponsible media spreads hate mongering among society , Social Media buzzed to boycott all so-called media channels*.
The conflict between India and Pakistan is only due to media and it’s false and propaganda spreaded from AC rooms for the sake and advantage of politicians in upcoming of elections. It is time to think that if we want peace and brotherhood we have to completely put off such so-called TV channels .
Taking an advantage of social media everyone who fails became journalist and anchor , that is why society is losing hope and trust upon media that results media looses it’s value and dignity.
It is now seen that irresponsible media is having only two facts i.e date and day rest all reportage is false, fake and manipulated. We are living peacefully there but irresponsible media had converted it into war zone and conflict that results in uprising of terrorism and hate among communities.
The journalists are not even following the guiding rules of journalism set by the press council of India. In the hide of Freedom of Expression the watchdogs of democracy are having a nexus with the political parties, corporate and big organizations for their own petty gains. The greedy media is killing the people and the democracy, not at the rate of authoritarianism but killing the same.
