Army, Civil Administration Mark Rajouri Day with Grandeur and Patriotism

RAJOURI, APRIL 13:-The Indian Army, in coordination with the District Administration Rajouri, commemorated Rajouri Day with great zeal and patriotic spirit at the ALG Grounds here today.

The event drew large participation from students, local residents, and officials from both civil and military establishments, reflecting a strong sense of unity and community engagement.

The celebrations began with the arrival of dignitaries, followed by a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Gujjar Mandi Chowk in honour of the martyrs. The release of tricolour balloons added a symbolic touch, representing national unity and pride.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Ace of Spades Division, Maj Gen Kaushik Mukherji, and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, were among the prominent dignitaries present on the occasion.
The programme featured a series of engaging activities, starting with a religious invocation and a stirring performance by the Police Pipe Band. The Army Dog Unit also showcased an impressive salutation display, earning appreciation from the audience.

Students presented a colourful cultural programme highlighting the rich heritage of Rajouri, including a thematic skit that captivated the audience. Army personnel further added to the excitement with a remarkable Malkhamb performance.
A key highlight of the day was the inauguration of the Rajouri Library Club, an initiative aimed at encouraging reading habits and fostering constructive involvement among the youth.

A short film on “Operation SINDOOR” was screened, offering insights into the Army’s initiatives and operations.
Various departments, including Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry, along with Self Help Groups, set up stalls displaying government schemes, local produce, and livelihood opportunities.
During the felicitation ceremony, several individuals were honoured under initiatives such as “Rajouri’s Got Talent” and “Shan-e-Pir Panjal,” recognizing achievements across diverse fields.

As part of welfare initiatives, beneficiaries were provided with electric wheelchairs and sewing machines, underscoring the administration’s commitment to inclusive development.

Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen Kaushik Mukherji appreciated the strong coordination between the armed forces and the civil administration. He highlighted the importance of unity, youth participation, and sustained efforts for peace and development in the region.

The event concluded with a group photograph and an interactive tea session, leaving participants with a renewed sense of patriotism and collective responsibility.

Overall, the celebration effectively showcased the spirit of Rajouri Day, reinforcing a shared vision of harmony, progress, and national integrity.
