Rajouri.:-Last night a pregnent woman named Zahida Begum wife of Liaqat Ali R/O village Badal was about to deliver but due to have no medical facility in proximity, an ASHA named Zareena Kosser called by the block medical officer kandi Dr Iqbal Malik at midnight around 11 AM.then BMO dispatched the ambulance within 10 minutes of receiving the call, the ambulance reached on the spot and picked her up and leave for CHC Kandi but on way to reached Badhal road, Songri Gali, due to heavy rainfall, a landslide happened which has badly hampered the road and completely blocked there by leaving the ambulance stranded with the woman profusely bleeding. On getting the information of the situation the BMO informed the ADC Ved Prakash for clearances of the road although the JCB left to clear the road, the BMO left for the location with his own vehicle at 12 .30 AM along with Dr Zia-ul- Haq, as no ambulance could get through the narrow roads in foggy atmosphere, after giving some life saving Medicines and aid, he picked the patient along with family members in his own car and brought them to CHC Kandi by 3 am. Later patient referred to District Hospital Rajouri at 6am. Both the mother and the child are now safe and stable . People and civil society appreciated the role of ADC and the health department.
