SRINAGAR DECM 28:-Senior Trade Union Leader socio-political activist and Civic issues M Altafdar Rajbagh has appealed to the Traffic Department to adopt a humane and facilitative approach while dealing with motorists facing minor documentation lapses.
He urged that vehicles whether two, three, or four-wheelers should not be seized on the spot, nor should heavy challans be imposed for first-time or genuine cases involving documents like insurance, licence, helmet, pollution, or fitness certificates.Instead, he suggested on-spot guidance, reasonable penalties where permissible, and a short grace period to ensure compliance without causing hardship to common citizens.
Emphasizing that traffic enforcement should focus on awareness, correction, and road safety, M Altafdar Rajbagh expressed hope that authorities would consider this appeal in the larger public interest.
