Jammu June 24 :– All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF) extended their support to the on going Dental Surgeons Agitation in a meeting held today under the Chairmanship of Dr. Pankaj Mangotra, State Executive Committee Member, All J&K Youth Federation in the presence of doctors and AJKYF activists.

While addressing the meeting, Dr. Pankaj Mangotra stressed upon the problems faced by the dental surgeons, where no recruitment have been taken place since 2008 for them beside one advertisement where daughter of BJP leader was appointmented because of which more than 7000 BDS graduates are unemployed and waiting for the same and about 500 BDS graduates become overaged without appearing before JKPSC exams a single time which is injustice and unwarranted.

Dr. Pankaj further said due this scenario the worth of BDS degree is decreasing day by day provoking medical students not to adopt BDS stream and simultaneously those who have completed their degrees are waiting, having a ray of hope over the government and administration for fresh advertisement of vacancies for them. This has caused depression to the degree holders forcing them to leave thier medical path and apot those which is below their worth.

Dr. Pankaj also added that World Health Organization (WHO) has describe 1:7500 in urban and 1:10000 in rural ratio for service of dental surgeons but here in J&K the ratio graph has increased to 1: 30,000 which shows the absolute failure of the present and previous governments. Many assurances are made to the dental surgeons from elected representatives and administration but till now not a single piece of relief is provided to them but the actual file for advertising vacancies for dental surgeons is being roaming between health department, civil secretariat and finance department secretariat since years.

During this Covid-19 pandemic where an absolute shortage of doctors was seen in the entire nation and in the UT of J&K as well, dental surgeons were the best alternative to deal with the situation having knowledge to the medical field but still no such observation has been made by the government, which may give a big relief to the people suffering on one hand and employment will be given to the BDS graduates on the other hand.

The meeting unanimously resolved to support the genuine cause of the Dental Surgeons/ BDS graduates and participants also urged upon the central government as well as the Lieutenant Governor to consider the sterling demands and advertise vacancies for dental surgeons/ BDS graduates on fast track basis besides formalution of appropriate Youth Policy for Jammu and Kashmir considering the recruitment to each and every feild of graduates and post graduates students.

Prominent among those who were present were Haroon Rashid, Keshav Malhotra, Thakur Mandeep Singh, Dr Sandeep Singh, Swarit Mahajan, Dr Ajay Kumar, Dr Harish, Dr Tahir chauhan, Danish Gupta, Kamal Kumar.
