SRINAGAR, APRIL 29:-Social and political activist Ajaz Ahmad Dhobi called on Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and Rajya Sabha Member Ramdas Athawale in New Delhi and discussed several important issues concerning District Pulwama.
During the meeting, Ajaz Ahmad Dhobi highlighted the growing menace of drug abuse among youth in Pulwama and strongly emphasized the urgent need for establishing Drug De-Addiction Centres in the district. He stated that the increasing number of drug addiction cases has become a matter of serious concern and requires immediate intervention from the Government.
Dhobi urged the Union Minister to take necessary steps for strengthening rehabilitation facilities, awareness programmes, and counselling services for affected youth. He also discussed various developmental and social welfare issues related to Pulwama and sought the Centre’s support in addressing them effectively.
Ramdas Athawale patiently heard the concerns raised during the meeting and assured that the issues pertaining to social justice, youth welfare, and rehabilitation would be looked into positively.
Ajaz Ahmad Dhobi expressed hope that the Government would take concrete measures for the welfare of the youth and the betterment of society in Pulwama district.
