Rajouri January 16:–Parveen Yograj, District Immunisation Officer (DIO); Kuldeep Singh ,Principal,GMC & Dr Shamim Bhatti, CMO were among the prominent who get the first doses on the occasion of much awaited COVID-19 vaccination drive commenced today.
The drive was simultaneously launched at District Hospital (Ah&GMC) and sub district hospital (SDH) at Sunderbani.
“At both the places òut of 185 registered beneficiaries,127 were vaccinated at GMC Rajouri (50) & at Sunderbani (77). For first phase we have received more than 1700 doses of the vaccine for health department staff, army personnel & Central governed employees” said CMO.
The drive at GMC was launched by Th.Sher Singh, Additional DC in the presence of Principal GMC, CMO, DIO, HoDs & faculty members.
According to guidelines about 100 frontline workers at each site have to get vaccination per day.
“The vaccination process passed off smoothly, peacefully & without any post immunisation adverse effects as the apprehensions had gripped the beneficiaries”said Dr.Shuja Qadri, HoD, PSM & Nodal Officer GMC.
All the beneficiaries after remaining under observation followed by SOPs /guidelines were allowed to go to homes,he added.
“In order to remove the fear about any post immunisation adverse effects & to educate the people, in the first phase senior officials of the health department, senior professors/doctors were first given Covid-19 vaccine shots” said CMO.
Those who received first shot of the vaccine will be injected second dose after 28 days..
