Police continues socio-cultural events in memory of martyrs

Rajouri, October 28:–Continuing with its efforts to remember the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir police, socio-cultural events continued in Rajouri district on Wednesday.

Police said that to pay homage to the gallant police martyrs, a cultural programme and debate competition was organised at Government Girls High School Budhal in which a large number of students, locals, members of civil society and family members of police martyrs were present.
Deputy SP PC (OPs) Imtiaz Ahmed and other officials were also present wherein participants, while addressing, recounted the services of police martyrs.

Later, a chowk in Budhal market was named after the name of Martyr Shabir Mir as “SHABIR CHOWK” and another link road was named after the name of Martyr SGCT Parvez Ahmed as “PARVEZ ROAD”.

In Manjakote, police team headed by SDPO Nisar Khoja organised an awareness programme in which students of various institutions took part taking due care of COVID19.

Besides general awareness on social evils like drugs menace and pandemic of Corona virus, threadbare discussion was held on the role of a cop in society as well as sacrifices made by gallant police martyrs.

In Nowshera, in the momories of police martyrs, a debate completion on topic ‘Role of police in nation building’ was organised at Girls Higher Secondary School Nowshera.

The program was attended by AdSP Nowshera Girdhari Lal Sharma, SDPO Nowshera Zakir Shaheen Mirza, ExEN PDD Nowshera, principal and staff of school.

Students of different schools participated in the program who also shared their views on the topic terming a police martyr as a proud son of soil.

Later, Hasthana Gura link road at village Gagrote was named after the name of Martyr Sanjeewan Kumar who attained martyrdom at SOG camp Srinagar in militant attack on 27/12/1999.
