Rajouri,October 27:– In its efforts to pay homage to the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir police parivar, police here in Rajouri district remembered Shaheed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ghanisham Khajuria and held an event in his memory at Governement Higher Secondary School Chingus where he received his education.
Similar events were also held at Dharamsal and Sunderbani and two main roads were named on the names of two martyr constables.
Police said that Incharge of Police Post Chingus, SI Ashish Chowdhary visited the school wherein Police installed a poster photograph of Shaheed Deputy SP.
All the participants including police officials paid floral tributes to the martyr and recounted his services in police parivaar for his motherland.
Shaheed DySP was a resident of Kallar village of Rajouri and was one of the brave cop who attained martyrdom while fighting with the terrorists.
A memorial has also been built in his memory at Kallar chowk.
Meanwhile, at Marchola Sunderbani, an event was held wherein Marchola to Pingagala road was named after the name of martyr constable Ashok Kumar who attained martyrdom on 3rd of March 2004 at Amnphala Jammu.
Additional SP Nowshera Girdhari Lal Sharma, Sub Divisional Police Officer Nowshera Zakir Shaheen Mirza, Block Development Council Chairman Siot, Station House Officer Sunderbani and other locals and family members of martyrs were present on this occassion.
In another such event, main chowk Dharamsal was named after the name of Martyr Constable Raj Kumar of Dharamsal.
Additional SP Nowshera, Sub Divisional Police Officer Nowshera, Station House Officer Dharamsal and other locals, PRIs and family members of martyr were present on this occasion.
SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that each martyr of J&K Police is a source of pride for everyone.
He said that series of events are being held across the district to remember the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland and the nation.
