Budhal Rajouri October 24 :–The negligence of the Irrigation Department Rajouri came to light in Budhal area of ​​Rajouri district today when the people of village Kewal Beji along with their Sarpanch Farooq Inqalabi started repairing the Kewal canal from Budhal themselves. Farooq Inqalabi said that the canal had been dry for the last three months and the people were facing severe hardships. He said that people have to fetch drinking water for cattle’s in from a distance of two kilometers their crops are also badly affected due to non-availability of water. He said that the people informed all the officers of the irrigation department about the canal but the officers did not even once try to address the grievances of the people as a result of which today the people are repairing the canal themselves. He said that if the canal is repaired and maintained by the people themselves then why millions of rupees are given to the irrigation department for repair works. Farooq Inqalabi said that the employees of Irrigation Department along with a few contractors spend crores of rupees every year in the name of repairing the canal but the condition of the canal remains the same. He said that the money spent by the Irrigation Department on the repair of Budhal to Kewal canal in the last five years should be regularly scrutinized. Farooq Inqlabi further warned irrigation department for dire consequences if failed to repair canal from Budhal to Kewal.
