Rajouri,Oct 21:– The Jammu and Kashmir police here in Rajouri district on Wednesday observed the Police Commemoration Day paying glorious and professional tributes to all the police martyrs across the country.
The main event was held at District Police Lines Rajouri where Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajouri Poonch range, Vivek Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Chandan Kohli, Commandant IR 2nd Battalion Mohammad Rashid, Additional SP Rajouri, Additional SP Nowshera, all Sub Divisional Police Officers, Station House Officers, Police Post In-charges and other field officers were present.
District Magistrate Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, Additional District Magistrate Thakur Sher Singh and other civil officers also took part in the event.
Glorious and professional tributes were paid to all the police martyrs during the event in whi h contingents of J&K Police and Central Para Military Forces also participated.
SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli also enlisted names of all the police martyrs who attained martyrdom for the motherland across the country.
Later, an interaction meeting with the family members of police martyrs of Rajouri district was held wherein senior police and civil administration officers listened to the grievances of family members of martyrs.
Thereafter, a Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament was also inaugurated in the ground of District Police Lines Rajouri which was declared open by DM Rajouri alongwith DIG Rajouri Poonch range and SSP Rajouri.
Cricket teams from across the district are taking part in the said tournament
