FARMERS APPROACH YOUTH FEDERATION REPRESENTATIVE, ALLEGED DISTRIBUTION OF POOR QUALITY OF SEEDS BY AGRICULTURE DEPTT.

Poonch, October 16:– All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF) representative from Poonch District and Union Territory Executive Member, Adv. Romaan Showket Manhas accused the Agriculture Department for loss of agricultural production of farmers due to poor quality of seed distribution by the department in the district.

Number of farmers from the far flung area of Poonch District especially from Mendhar area approached AJKYF representative after being deceived by the Agriculture Department as they alleged that the quality of seeds received by them from the department is inferior due to which they incurred losses in agricultural production and accused them for cheating with the farmers.

Adv. Romaan said that the department had deceit the farmer and have delivered poor quality of seeds terming them as superior quality because of which farmers of the area are rewarded with huge loss in agricultural production as the plant of the seeds delivered by the department has to grows less in length and the skin should look bigger as per their commitment but unfortunately everything turned out to be opposite after showing.

Adv. Romaan further added that many farmers have approached administration after which a little initiative was taken by the them but the net result is still awaited and urged upon the District Administrative to take effective steps in the matter by conducting inquiry on the ground level and an adequate compensation is also demanded for the loss occurred due to the Agricultural Department.
