Budhal//The NSS wing of Govt. Degree College Budhal organised online National Level Quiz Competition on the theme ‘Gandhian Ideology and Indian Ethos as apart the Activities which were performed in connection with the Commemoration of 151th birth anniversary of the father of nation. this day was celebrated in whole of the Country every year as a symbol of peace and Ahimsa, the day has also paramount importance being international day of Non Violence. Earlier a day before, the digital link was generated to invite the participants. The link was circulated for wide publicity among the students at national level via personal contacts, whatsapp, emails, facebook, twitter, instagram and telegram accounts. A large number of students got registered on the link. In addition to the students of Jammu and Kashmir, a large section of students belonging to the different states and central universities like Delhi University, Jamia Milia Islamia, HNB Garwhal, Jamia Hamdard, JNU Delhi and AMU Aligarh showed their enthusiastic approach in participation.
In the digital event, the total numbers of participants were 200. Among them, 74% of participants obtained above 50% of marks and observed successful in getting e-certificates of participation, criteria of which was already fixed in the circulated advertisement.
In the whole exercise, the organising committee comprising of Dr Waheed, Lecturer, Department of Urdu and Convenor NSS Advisory Committee, Prof. Ajaz Ahmed, Department of History, Prof. Dr Tanveer Hussain, Prof Mohd Farooq, department of Arabic, DR Arshed Lecturer in Political Science and PTI Pinky Sharma played a remarkable role in instilling among the students the objectives of the mass participation in such digital event. At the end, the principal of the College, Dr. Mohd Mazammal Hussain appreciated the commitment and efforts of the organising committee and exhorted to constantly perform such type of events in near future in order to strive for digitalised temper considering the prevailing crisis due to the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
