Rajouri,Sept 25:- Police here in Rajouri district arrested a drugs peddler near Rajouri town after recovery of 924 grams of Charas from his possession.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandan Kohli said that a naka checking party of Rajori police station headed by SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani was on routine naka checking at Aitti near Darhali bridge when a pedestrian was seen moving suspiciously who even tried to change his walking direction soon after noticing police party.
He said that suspect was asked to stop but he started to run and was thereafter chased by police personnel and was nabbed.
During search, 924 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession after which accused identified as Mohammad Alyas MIr son of Mohammad Amin Mir resident of Palangarh village of Thanamandi have been arrested.
A casein FIR 503/2020 under sections 8(a)/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Rajouri police station.
Pertinent to mention here that police in Rajouri is working hard to tighten its grip against those involved in drugs peddling and Rajouri Police appeals people of Rajouri to come forward in sharing any valuable information to further check the drug abuse.
