Rajouri July 10:–For the last many months health officials from Kandi Block have been complaining about the shortage of Ambulances at Community Health Centre at Kotranka and PHC at Budhal.
In a repeated requests made by Dr. Iqbal Malik,BMO Kandi was informed to higher authorities of health department that they are facing big problems in shifting the patients and especially the Covid-19 positive cases to Covid Care Centres (CCCs) at Nagrota, Planger etc.
The operator of 108 Ambulance, available with CHC Kotranka reportedly have refused to ferry the Covid-19 active cases. There are only three ambulances which are in working order including two (one Van) at CHC Kandi and one at PHC Budhal.
Even on Friday (like in the past) the BMO faced the same problem in shifting the 16 Covid-19 active cases to CCC at Planger. BMO requested the authorities to provide additional vehicle so that the patients can be shifted.
It’s Important to mention here that due to lackadaisical attitude of higher health authorities in providing additional ambulance to CHC, Kandi , the doctors and paramedics of Kandi health block have decided to purchase and donate an Ambulance to CHC at Kotranka and for that they have donated the money.
“Mohd Nazir Sheikh, DDC Rajouri requested to arrange two ambulances for CHC at Kotranka and one for PHC at Budhal” A prominent social activist and Convener JKPM said.
