AJKYF demanded mass promotion of all courses JU students Same pattern should be followed across UT Universities : Sanjay Sandhu

Jammu, May, 30: -All J&K Youth Federation, (AJKYF) Jammu Provincial Incharge, Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu has demanded the mass promotion for all the students of Jammu University and its subordinate colleges including PG and UG courses students during this Covid-19 global pandemic in a press statement issued here today.

Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu said that due to the sudden announcement of nation vide lockdown, students were unable to carry their belongings including books while travelling back to their native place from hostels or rented accommodation and restrictions to the 4G internet services make them unable to follow up their studies during this lockdown. In the recent notification Jammu University has notified that they will conduct exams in the month of July and also stated that University is giving online lectures to the students on regular basis because of which maximum syllabus have been covered. But in reality students are unable to attend the online lectures due to 2G internet services and without books they are unable to prepare for their exams.

Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu further said that after the issuance of notification by Jammu University for holding the semester exams, Kashmir University has announced mass promotion to all course students. Students reading in Jammu University and its subordinate colleges belong to all the districts across the UT even from Kashmir province and such notification for conducting exams during this global pandemic is injustice with the students.

Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu added that Lt. Governor happens to be Chancellor of both Jammu and Kashmir Universities and notifying different pattern for examination to both the region is a live example of inequality and hate politics among the regions.

Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu urged upon the Lt. Governor and the Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University to review their notification for conducting of exams and give mass promotion to all the students appearing in different UG and PG courses on the basis of internal assessment and if the university wills to conduct exams that should be conducted only with the terminal students only after cutting short their syllabus and assuring grace marking.
