Rajouri,May 06:– Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri have booked a man for illegal cultivation of Poppy Straw in Deri Ralyote village of Manjakote police station.
In an official press note, police said that an information was received that a man from Manjakote has cultivated poppy straw illegally in his field after which a team of police headed by Sub Divisional Police Officer Manjakote Nisar Khoja alongwith Station House Officer Manjakote Manzoor Kohli in presence of Executive Magistrate from Manjakote visited the suspected area.
During physical search, crop of poppy straw was found which was destroyed on the spot.
A case FIR 84/2020 under section 8/15 NDPS Act have been registered against accused namely Abdul Karim son of Mohammad Ibrahim Bhatti resident of Dehri Ralyote.
Further investigation in the matter is going on.
