DC Rajouri finalises arrangements for the holy month of Ramadan

Rajouri,April,23:To discuss and finalise the arrangements to be made during the holy month of Ramdan,the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Thursday convened a meeting of the concerned officers and religious members here in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bunglow.

During the meeting various issues were discussed in detail including availability of essential commodities, uninterrupted power and water supply, proper sanitation and fumigation,regulation of rates of essential items,functioning of street lights etc.

The religious members during the meeting raised the issue of sale of old bakery in the shops and also demanded for the fixation of rates of meat and milk products and dry fruits in the district .

While speaking during the meeting the DC directed the concerned officers from PHE and PDD to ensure the uninterrupted water and power supply respectively at the time of Sehri and Iftar and Namaz during the holy month of Ramadan.He asked the Chief Medical Officer to ensure the availability of the essential medicare facilities during the month so that the general public do not face any inconvenience.He also asked the CMO to ensure that OPD should be conducted at the Health center located in the town and advised the public not to visit at GMC Rajouri for day to day OPD.

He asked the Assistant Director FCS&CA and Tehsildar Rajouri to conduct market checking on a regular basis to avoid hoarding,blackmarketing and overpricing of the essential commodities during the month.

He further directed the authorities of FCS& CA department to keep available essential commodities for the general public and asked for effective monitoring of public distribution mechanism in the district.Executive Officer Municipality Rajouri has been asked to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation in the town and he has also been directed to ensure that the street lights in the town are fully functional during the auspicious days.He was also directed to ensure proper fumigation of the wards on daily basis.

DC asked the concerned officers to maintain coordination and put in place extra efforts for the convenience of the general public and ensure that all the basic amenities are provided to them during these days so that the holy month of Ramadan can be celebrated in a smooth and successful manner in the district.

Moreover the DC has also appealed to the general to stick to the SOPs and guidelines of the lockdown by staying in their houses so that the CoronaVirus pandemic can be mitigated in the district.
