Zulfkar demands special advisory, Free basic facilities for tribal migrations.

RAJOURI : Former cabinet minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today urged the Union Territory Administration to make plan for the Tribal population which migrates annually from the plains of Jammu region and Peer Panjal to the higher pastures of Kashmir along with livestock,the only source of livelihood. As the administration at most of the places denied them the permission .

Zulfkar said that to Provide safe passage and due permission for reaching to pastures. Administration must Make arrangements for fodder.
Free food to the tribal/migratory population for 6 months. And
Collecting of milk from there localities on market price.

In view of bi-annual seasonal migration of nomads to upper reaches of Peer Panjal zulfkar also demanded a special advisory for law enforcement agencies to help them to cross various areas and routes they adopted since centuries.

There are restrictions on movement due to pandemic ,Tribal movement in several areas the Gujjars–Bakerwals are facing extreme adversities, toughest lifestyle, lack economic freedom owing to deficiency of resources so they (Tribal) deserve special attentions of UT administration and Central government zulfkar said.

The Gujjars constituted more than 20 per cent population of the State and a sizeable population of the tribe, along with their livestock, undertake migration for six months every year.

As the tribals migrates to upper reaches during crisis of COVID-19 Zulfkar demanded free medicines and other basic facilities for Gujjar and Bakarwals.
