District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh* today said that District is fully equipped with all the essential commodities required to tackle and combat the COVID-19.
Mr. Sheikh said that District has established 35 Quarantine Centres across the District and separate management committees comprising of officers/officials, are assigned with the job to manage all affairs of the Quarantine Centres. *He added that as on date, around 73 persons* are Institutional Quarantined, in various Quarantine Centres Viz. Associated Hospital, Govt. PG College Rajouri Hostels (02), Pahari Hostel, Darul-Aloom Kheora etc and all the persons have been kept in congenial environment and *around 535 are in Home Quarantine*.
Brand new complete bedding, Hygienic Food, Separate daily usable items (kits)* have been provided to all the persons kept in quarantines. He further reiterated that sufficient funds have been provided by the Govt. and are available to meet out all the requirements and making arrangements, during this tough time. He also informed that, people of the District are also generously contributing in the District Rajouri Disaster Relief fund, for which process was initiated just one day ago.
He assured that, *all types of arrangements shall be made to tackle any contingency due to wake of COVID-19,* in the District and administration is fully prepared for the same along with men and machinery. He also informed that 3770 migrant Labourers, destitute, stranded passengers, mentally challenged persons, slum dwellers etc have been identified, to whom ration is being distributed by the designated committees.
Being surprised to the statement issued by ADC Koteranka, DDC said that, ADC koteranka is not authorized spokesperson of the administration and *his statement is in his personal capacity and deplorable*, which may be treated as null and void. He further said that disciplinary action shall be taken, against those officers, who are at the helm of affairs and takes the things casually during this pandemic COVID-19.
DDC also appealed the public, not to hide their travel history and extend cooperation to the *Village level and Tehsil level committees* constituted for the tracing and locating the persons who have foreign travel history or outside UT travel history, so that proper treatment could be provided. He said that people should refrain themselves from rumour mongers and let the Health department to take its task, while deciding/following the protocol to deal with the COVID-19.
