*Farooq Inqlabi’s complaint followed by renewed attention to teacher deployment; demands inquiry, surprise inspections and accountability*
GNS ONLINE NEWS PORTAL
RAJOURI, OCTOBER 29:– The reported closure of Government Girls Primary School, Trun Kewal, in Zone Kotranka, during official working hours has brought the functioning of government schools and alleged irregular teacher attachments under renewed scrutiny, following concerns raised by senior PDP leader and social activist Mohd Farooq Inqlabi.
Inqlabi had earlier alleged that the school was found closed at around 10:45 AM on October 27, despite it being an official working day. He demanded an immediate and impartial inquiry into the incident, along with a comprehensive review of teacher attachments and rationalisation orders in the zone.
The issue has drawn further attention following reports of action initiated by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Rajouri, directing certain teachers to leave their places of attachment and report back to their original places of posting.
Inqlabi welcomed the reported intervention and expressed hope that the remaining attachments in Zones Kotranka and Khawas would also be examined to determine whether they comply with applicable rules and the actual staffing requirements of government schools.
He said he had been raising concerns about the functioning of government schools in Zone Kotranka with the government and the Education Department for the past one to two years. According to him, alleged irregularities in teacher deployment could leave some schools short of staff and adversely affect students’ education.
He also called for verification of attendance records, attachment and rationalisation orders, and the circumstances surrounding the reported closure of Government Girls Primary School, Trun Kewal. He urged the CEO Rajouri and other senior authorities to conduct surprise inspections and ensure that teachers serve at their designated places of posting.
“If a school remains closed during working hours or teachers are unavailable where they are required, it is the students who suffer. The Education Department must ensure that every school functions properly and that teachers are deployed according to students’ needs, not personal convenience,” Inqlabi said.
He stressed that the matter should not be treated as an isolated incident and called for transparency in teacher deployment, effective supervisory mechanisms and accountability wherever violations are established.
NEWS IMPACT
The issue has brought the availability of teachers in remote government schools into sharper public focus. The reported action by the CEO Rajouri has raised expectations that the Education Department will examine other attachments, verify school attendance and address any staffing imbalances affecting students.
For families in remote areas, where government schools are often the primary source of education, the key concern remains whether administrative action will translate into regular classes, adequate teaching staff and improved accountability on the ground.
