RAJOURI, SEP, 30:- Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri today held the Oath Ceremony for the MBBS Batch 2026, marking the formal beginning of the medical journey of 150 newly admitted MBBS students.
Dr. A.S. Bhatia, Principal, GMC Rajouri, was the Chief Guest at the ceremony.
Heads of various departments, faculty members, GMC staff and parents of the newly admitted students were also present on the occasion.
The 150 students took the medical oath and pledged to uphold the dignity, ethics and responsibilities of the medical profession while serving humanity with compassion and dedication.
Speaking on the occasion, several speakers highlighted the remarkable progress and achievements of GMC Rajouri and appreciated the collective contribution of its faculty and staff towards strengthening the institution.
Special appreciation was expressed for the dedication and personal efforts of Principal Dr. A.S. Bhatia in facilitating the enhancement of the college’s MBBS intake. The college, which earlier had 100 MBBS seats, has now received approval for an additional 50 seats, taking the total intake to 150 seats.
Speakers said the increase in MBBS seats is an important milestone for GMC Rajouri and will provide greater opportunities for aspiring medical students while further strengthening medical education in the region.
The entire faculty and staff of GMC Rajouri were also lauded for their sustained hard work, teamwork and commitment towards academic excellence, patient care and the overall development of the institution.
The ceremony concluded with best wishes to the newly inducted MBBS students for their academic journey and future service to society as medical professionals.
