***Developed indigenously Missile achieved all Mission Objectives
RAJOURI/DELHI, JUNE 16:-The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday successfully conducted the flight-test of the indigenously developed Long-Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.
According to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the missile successfully achieved all mission objectives, validating critical technologies and demonstrating India’s growing long-range precision strike capability.
“Developed by DRDO with significant participation from Indian industry partners, the successful test marks another major milestone towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat and a strong national defence ecosystem,” the Ministry said.
The MoD stated that all test objectives were fully met, as confirmed by data captured through various tracking instruments deployed by the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur.
The LRLACM is a fully indigenous missile system, with its subsystems developed by various DRDO laboratories in collaboration with Indian industry partners. The Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, served as the nodal laboratory for the project.
Senior DRDO officials and user representatives from the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force witnessed the launch.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO team and industry partners on the successful flight-test of the missile, describing it as a significant boost to India’s indigenous defence capabilities.
Defence Secretary and Secretary, Department of Defence Research & Development, Rajesh Kumar Singh, who monitored the launch activities, also congratulated the scientists, engineers, and all personnel associated with the successful test.
The successful trial further strengthens India’s long-range strike capabilities and underscores the country’s continued progress in indigenous missile development and defence self-reliance.
