Legislators express gratitude to Javed Rana for creation of new divisions in Jal Shakti department

SRINAGAR, MAY 14:-Legislators Nazir Ahmad Khan and Javid Hassan Baig today called on Minister Javed Ahmed Rana at Civil Secretariat here and expressed their gratitude for the creation of new divisions and sub-divisions in the Jal Shakti Department under the recent cadre review and reorganisation approved by the government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The legislators appreciated the government for addressing long-pending demands of the people living in remote and far-flung areas and termed the decision a significant step towards strengthening public service delivery and administrative accessibility.
They added that the creation of new divisions and sub-divisions will substantially improve water supply management, reduce the distance people have to travel for departmental work, and enable faster execution of Jal Jeevan Mission and other water sector projects.
They noted that earlier people were facing inconvenience who had to travel long distances for official works and redressal of grievances.
It is pertinent to mention that the Cabinet approved creation of six new Divisions in the Jal Shakti Department as part of its Cadre Review and Reorganization.
The new divisions include Hydraulic Divisions at Gandoh, Gurez and Tangdar, PHE division Mendhar; and two Water Quality and Monitoring Divisions in Jammu and Srinagar.
The legislators appreciated the Omar Abdullah government for its sustained focus on balanced regional development and for extending administrative and public utility services to the doorsteps of people living in remote areas.
Minister Javed Ahmed Rana reaffirmed that the government is committed to ensuring equitable development across all regions, with special focus on backward and far-flung areas, by providing essential facilities at the doorsteps of the people.
He said that public representatives must discharge their responsibilities sincerely by highlighting the genuine concerns of the people and ensuring that developmental initiatives reach every section of society.
Rana further stated that the present government under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah remains focused on fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, with special attention to the needs of remote and backward communities.
