**Rajnath Singh calls for zero tolerance against terrorism worldwide

***India, Germany Ink Key Defence & Peacekeeping Agreements

RAJOURI/DELHI, APRIL 22:-Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh held bilateral talks with Germany’s Federal Minister of Defence, Boris Pistorius, in Berlin to further bolster the strategic defence partnership between the two countries.

On Wednesday (April 22), both Ministers discussed a range of bilateral security and defence issues, including priority areas for co-development and co-production of defence equipment, particularly in niche technologies.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing military-to-military cooperation as a key pillar of the strategic partnership.

During the meeting, the Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap and an Implementing Arrangement for Cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Training were inked and exchanged.

Rajnath Singh described his visit to Germany as a symbol of deep friendship, synergy, and trust. He noted that the partnership has gained significant momentum in recent years, especially after Boris Pistorius assumed office as Germany’s Defence Minister.

The Raksha Mantri highlighted that the recent India–EU Security and Defence Partnership marks a significant step in deepening collective engagement. Both Ministers agreed to leverage this framework—bilaterally and within the wider European context—to achieve tangible outcomes that strengthen regional stability, enhance joint capabilities, and reinforce Indo-German strategic alignment.

He also underlined that in times of global uncertainty, India and Germany have provided much-needed stability and strength to the global economy.

On terrorism, Rajnath Singh asserted that the menace in all its forms and manifestations must be condemned unequivocally, without exception or justification.

The German Defence Minister appreciated the institutionalisation of service-level staff talks and future bilateral military exercises.

Rajnath Singh expressed hope for the German Air Force’s participation in the next edition of Exercise TARANG SHAKTI, scheduled to be held in India in September–October this year.

Earlier, he was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the German Ministry of Defence. He also laid a wreath at the Bundeswehr Memorial as a mark of respect.

India and Germany have completed 25 years of their Strategic Partnership and are set to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2026.

The bilateral relationship today is multifaceted, spanning defence, trade and investment, technology and innovation, development cooperation, green energy, higher education, sustainable solutities.7culture, and people-to-people ties.
