JAMMU, APRIL 03:-Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana informed the Legislative Assembly that substantial progress has been made in executing works under multiple funding streams in the Kalakote–Sunderbani constituency of district Rajouri.
The Minister shared this while replying to a question raised by Minister Randhir Singh regarding fund utilisation in his constituency.
He said that under UT CAPEX, Rs 350.15 lakh has been released, out of which Rs 107.18 lakh has been spent so far on PHE Jammu works in the Kalakote–Sunderbani constituency.
Providing further details, the Minister stated that under District CAPEX, CDF, BDC and SDRF, funds amounting to Rs 110.47 lakh have been released and all sanctioned works have been completed.
He also apprised the House about the status of Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) works in the constituency, noting that several projects are currently at different stages of implementation. A list of damages to infrastructure projects in the area has been submitted to the Finance Department for consideration.
Regarding SASCI proposals, the Minister said that works worth Rs 226.16 lakh have been proposed for the constituency under I&FC Jammu, adding that separate proposals have also been submitted to the Finance Department for additional works.
Randhir Singh highlighted various concerns related to his constituency. Responding to these, the Minister clarified that any apprehensions about discrimination are misplaced and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to equitable distribution of resources across all constituencies.
He emphasized that projects in the constituency are being taken up in a balanced manner and that sustained efforts are underway to ensure their timely completion.
The Minister further informed that a special meeting was convened to review developmental works in the constituency and to address any implementation gaps.
Reiterating the Government’s commitment, he said that all regions are being supported on an equal footing, with development initiatives guided by need and priority rather than bias.
