Krishna Ghati Brigade Organises Medical & Dental Outreach Camp at Jhullas Under Op Sadbhavana

POONCH JAN, 15:-In a significant humanitarian initiative under Operation Sadbhavana, the Nangi Tekri Battalion, under the aegis of the Krishna Ghati Brigade, organised a comprehensive Medical and Dental Outreach Camp at Jhullas on Thursday, aimed at providing essential healthcare services to residents of this remote border region.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local population, including women, children and elderly citizens. The initiative was supported by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, who deputed specialist doctors, reflecting strong military–civil cooperation and a shared commitment to public welfare.

During the camp, free medicines were distributed for ailments such as fever, infections, gastric issues, skin diseases, musculoskeletal pain, chronic illnesses, and maternal and child health needs. Comprehensive medical examinations were conducted, including blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, respiratory assessments and symptom-based clinical evaluations.

Special emphasis was laid on dental healthcare. Dental services included oral cavity examinations, identification of dental caries and gum diseases, basic dental procedures, pain management and referral advice for advanced treatment where required. Dental health education sessions were also organised, focusing on proper oral hygiene practices, correct brushing techniques, prevention of tooth decay and gum disease, and dietary guidance for maintaining dental health.
In addition, health awareness sessions were held on personal hygiene, nutrition, first-aid, winter-related disease prevention and sanitation. As part of Op Sadbhavana, special care was extended to elderly and high-risk individuals, while patients requiring specialised treatment were guided with appropriate referral advice.

The outreach programme not only improved access to medical and dental services in the area but also reinforced preventive healthcare awareness among the local population. The initiative further strengthened the bond between the Indian Army and the local community, underscoring the Army’s continued commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare.

Local residents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army and the medical teams, describing the camp as a timely and impactful healthcare initiative for the region.
