BUDHAL SEPTEMBER 07:-In a timely and compassionate gesture, the Indian Army provided much-needed relief to flood-affected families in Kangota village of Budhal area, Rajouri district, by setting up temporary shelter tents. In the wake of recent heavy rains and subsequent flash floods that left several families displaced and homes damaged, the Army’s swift action has brought a sense of safety and stability to the distressed villagers.
The temporary shelters were distributed as part of the Army’s ongoing commitment to civilian welfare under its Operation Sadbhavana initiative. Soldiers worked closely with local residents to ensure the shelters were erected quickly and efficiently, with special attention given to families with elderly members, women, and children.
Local social activist Farooq Inqlabi appreciated the Indian Army’s efforts, stating, “At a time when many families have lost everything to the floods, the Indian Army has once again stood by the people. Their support goes beyond security — it reflects humanity and unity in difficult times.”
Villagers expressed gratitude to the Army, calling the initiative a “lifeline” in their hour of need. Community leaders also emphasized the importance of continued civil-military cooperation to tackle natural calamities in this remote and often underserved region.
The Army has assured ongoing monitoring of the situation and promised further assistance, including medical aid and essential supplies, if needed.
